Louise Jewkes died on April 11, 2004 to be joined again with her previously deceased husband, Richard R. Jewkes. Louise was born September 18, 1915 in Carrizozo, NM. She met Richard in El Paso, TX when they both worked at the INS. They were married for 24 years.
She lived in Mesilla Valley for over 55 years. She has four children: Richard L. Jewkes of El Paso, TX; Linda Widner of Estancia, NM; James Jewkes of Conifer, Colorado and Vicki Jewkes of Fairacres, NM. She has five grandchildren: Lane Widner and Lee Widner of Las Cruces, Ashley Jewkes of Conifer, Colorado; Tyler Jewkes of Conifer, Colorado and Jared Jewkes of Dell City, TX.
She had been a pistol target shot in her younger days and enjoyed her poker and bingo in her later days. She will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews and relatives from here and far away.
She was a best friend to many and a kind and loving wife and mother. Love enveloped her here as in Heaven. "To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna"...Rev.2:17.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Graham's Mortuary Chapel, 555 W. Amador, Las Cruces, NM with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Diabetes Association.
Service arrangements are with Graham's Mortuary.
