Emily J. Obert, age 93, of Upper Arlington, died Friday, November 28, 2003 at her home. She was a native of Oklahoma and a longtime Ohio State and Oklahoma Football Fan. Emily retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation where she was a secretary. Her parents Ira and Gladys Johnson, sister Iralene, brothers Gunter and Montford precede her in death. She is survived by her son, James (Mary Beth) Obert of Upper Arlington; grandchildren, Mary Colleen (David) Gerard of New York, NY, Meghan (Kevin) Hopkins of Dublin, and Maureen (George) Shildwachter of Avon Lake, OH; two great grandchildren. A private family service will be held at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, with inurnment at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Court, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
