James was born to Arthur and Mabel Breeden on March 10, 1926, in Blind Lake, Minn., and was raised primarily in Council Bluffs and attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 35 years of service, and also worked construction for many years. James loved to bowl in leagues and won many trophies over the years, making many wonderful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 6 brothers; 1 sister; his second wife, Dorothy; and grandson, Brent; step-daughters, Janet Saar and Jean Elliott.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara Robinson and husband, Bob, of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Bethany Yoch and husband, Mike, of Omaha, Robert Robinson and wife, Nora, of Los Angeles, Calif., Ryan Robinson, of Norfolk, Neb., Matthew Robinson, of Omaha; great grandchildren, Asher James Yoch, Westin Yoch; many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; lst wife Phyllis Holton, of Council Bluffs; brother, Richard Breeden and wife, Jackie, of Oregon; and step son-in-law, Irven Saar ll, of Council Bluffs.
Dad was a wonderful, giving person who would help anyone. He loved to travel and met many on his adventures.
Visitation Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services Friday, 10:30 a.m., all at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel, Bob Robinson son of James to officiate. Luncheon to follow immediately at the Pink Poodle Restaurant in Crescent. Memorials are suggested to Omaha Campus for Hope, 1490 No. 16th Street, Omaha, Neb. 68104. James will be interred on Tuesday, May 29th, at 10:30 a.m., at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
