Alfred Frank Olig, 96, formerly of 391 E. Second St., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993, at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home.

He was born Jan., 10, 1897 in Mount Calvary, a son of Nicholas and Anna Koenen Olig. On July 31, 1923, he married Catherine L. Loehr at St. Michael's Church in Dotyville.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was employed at the Fond du Lac County Highway Department until retiring in 1962. He also farmed for many years in Fond du Lac County.

Mr. Olig was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a former member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of American Legion Post 75 of Fond du Lac.

Survivors include one son, Harold and his wife Esther of Fond du Lac; three daughters, Rosalin Huhn of North Fond du Lac, Doloras "Dorie" Ragasis of Fond du Lac, and Kathleen McHugh and her husband Paul of Oshkosh; one son-in-law, Orlo Jahns of Fond du Lac; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Olig of Fond du Lac; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-granchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife on Oct. 7, 1991; one daughter, Marie Jahns on Nov. 14, 1986; one son, Richard L. on April 30, 989; two sons-in-law, Ronald Ragasis on Dec 9, 1993, and Louis Huhn in March of 1989; four brothers and five sisters.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church. The Rev. Thomas Walker will officiate. Entombment will be at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, where American Legion Post 75 will conduct military services.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where a parish vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m.
