Funeral services for Rupert Earl Savage, 85, of Farmerville, La. will be held on Sunday March 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Farmerville Church of Christ. Officiating will be Bro. Larry White and Bro. Terry Cole. Interment will be in Liberty Hill/Taylor Cemetery. Visitation will be at Farrar Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

Rupert was born on July 18, 1927 in Union Parish, La. to his parents Clifton Earl and Kathleen Albritton Savage Taylor. He died on Thursday March 21, 2013. Rupert was a hard-working man, who enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing and squirrel hunting. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball and was a long-time fan of the Boston Red Sox. Pulling tricks on folks was one of his favorite pastimes. His famous words, "Have I showed you this one?" was his trademark. He was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of Wards Chapel Church of Christ and in later years, Farmerville Church of Christ. He retired from IMC in Sterlington after 42 years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children: Bernice Parker Savage; daughter: Pamela Fay Savage; his parents: Clifton and Kathleen Savage Taylor; stepfather: Gordon Taylor; son-in-law: Jarvis Rogers and sister-in-law: Elsie Hays.

Mr. Savage is survived by his wife: Gladys Neal Savage; three daughters: Mary Emma Savage; Den Savage Rogers and Jen Savage Spencer and husband Bruce; three grandchildren: Christy Spencer Ticheli and husband Adam, Heath Rogers and wife Katie and Allen Spencer; four great grandchildren: Ben Ticheli, Trent Futch, Kaidence Spencer and Brayden Rogers; stepson Kenny Neal and wife Vickie; stepdaughter: Judy Neal White and husband Larry; five step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren; four brothers: Charles Savage and wife Patricia; Pete Taylor and wife Martha, Robert Taylor and wife Debbie and Joel Taylor; one sister: Faye Taylor Giddens and husband Jessie and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be: Johnny Savage, Stacey Savage, Lucien Savage, Larry Savage, Ranny Pratt and Jim Bo Giddens. Memorial donations may be made to the Farmerville Church of Christ or to Wards Chapel Church of Christ.
