Enoch Keithley was the son of John and Elizabeth[Gordon] Keithley, one of six known siblings. He married Amy Turner on the 29th of August, 1852 in New Diggins, Lafayette, Wisconsin. Enoch and Amy had three sons: Joseph Henry, Lewis Owen and Arthur H. Keithley.

Enoch enlisted in the Wisconsin 16th Regiment with muster being completed on January 31, 1862. The regiment left Wisconsin on March 13 for Pittsburg Landing, which they reached on March 20. The 16th fought in the Battle of Shiloh on April 6 and 7. Enoch became ill and died of disease on May 8, 1862. He was buried in an unknown location at the National Cemetery at Pittsburg Landing [photo is one of the unidentified markers in the Wisconsin 16th section].
