Beth Chatwin Smith Johnston 48 of Orem, died Sept. 29, 1991 at Utah Valley Medical Center of injuries from an auto-pedestrian accident.

She was born March 16,1943 in American Fork, to Melvin Herbert and Gertrude Eliza Fraughton Chatwin.

She married Douglas Tolman Smith in 1957. He died in 1963. She married Jesse Merl Johnston in 1969. He died in 1973.

She was a homemaker and had resided in Lehi, American Fork and Orem. She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints.

She enjoyed camping and fishing.

She is survived by fiance, Craig Brooks, Orem, sons and daughters, Melvin Eugene Smith, Jessie Clark, Mickie Brunette all of Lehi. Michael Lawrence Smith, Draper. 10 grandchildren; her mother, Gertrude Chatwin, Lehi; brothers and sisters; Melvin LaVell Chatwin, Murray, Rocky Chatwin, Viola Timothy, both of Lehi; Melda (Penny) Hatfield, Springville; Leona (Lee) Barlow, Provo; Colleen Doyle, Pleasant Grove. She was proceded in death by a son Gary Douglas Smith.

Funeral will be Wednesday, 1 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary Chapel, 118 East Main. Lehi, where friends may call Wednesday from 11 a.m. until time for the service.

This is my sister-in-law Beth. We were the same age and had a lot of fun times together. Beth had a very hard life. And I wish it could have been better for her. Rest in Peace dear Sister. I love and Miss You.
