Betty Lou Akers of Arcadia, MO passed away March 9, 2014 at the age of 79 years, and 18 days.
She was born Feb. 19, 1935 in Ironton, MO a daughter of the late Ferman Frederick and Pearl Anthea Nelson Akers.
Surviving are three children, Donald Lynn Gardner of Redford, MO, Deborah Jo Elsworth of Arcadia, and Cindy Rousan and husband Bruce of Ware, MO; two brothers, Alva Lee Fox of Bonne Terre and Harry Fox of Potosi, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a sister Susan Evelyn Lawson and brother in law Ruben Lawson.
Betty owned and operated several small businesses in the area and was a member of the Banner Full Gospel Church. She loved to Quilt and spend time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wed. March 12 at 1 PM from Cole Family Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Lawson and Sister Lois Rigel officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Goodland. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. On line condolences may be made at www.colefamilyfuneralhomes.com.
