***Enlisted in 1916 and served with the 4th Alabama on the Mexican border. Served in The World War overseas with Co. C 167th Infantry, 42nd Division. Was wounded in German gas attack at Chateau Thierry on July 15, 1918. After many months in hospital he was transported back home and died from his wounds in New York City, NY on Nov. 25, 1918.
