Holiday said that he and McFalls were falling timber two miles below Grubbs and a falling tree broke a big limb from another tree. The limb grazed Holiday, hitting McFalls on the right side of the head. Holiday, who boards with the McFalls, but is originally from Jonesboro, then rushed McFalls to the hospital where the attending physician lists his condition as "Very Critical", with severe lacerations about the head.

Amos W. McFalls, 37, died at a local hospital late yesterday afternoon from injuries received when a falling limb hit him on the head.
He was brought to a local hospital early yesterday morning by George Holiday, who said that they were cutting timber below Grubbs when a falling limb grazed him (Holiday), and struck McFalls, inflicting severe lacerations of the head, and skull fracture.
Funeral will be held Monday, November 21, at the Tuckerman Baptist Church, with Rev. C. F. Wilkins officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Dillinger, Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille McFalls; Three sons, William, Johnny and Charlie, all of the home; three daughters,Louella, Dorothy Fay, and June, all of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Tisdail of Knobel, Mrs. Almondia Whittaker of Indiana, and Mrs. Millie Mae Pagtao of Knoble; five brothers, Bill of Jonesboro, Harry of Kansas City, Aaron of Paragould, Walter of California, Henry also of California.
