Delores was born July 5, 1940, in Mayville to Clarence and Gertrude (nee Rockow) Kuehl. She was united in marriage to Thomas Abbott on Dec. 27, 1958 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
Delores and Tommy owned and operated Tommy’s Corner Tap in Hartford for 42 years. She was a member of St. Kilian Church and the Washington County Tavern League. She shot pool for many years in the SAWPL. Delores loved cooking, playing cards (especially cribbage), reading and spending time up north at their cabin in Eagle River. She loved her family deeply and cherished her grandchildren even more. Delores loved to laugh! She looked forward to family gatherings and our Sunday morning coffee on the deck in the summer. Every holiday came along with a day of laughter and a new story about what her kids pulled in their younger years. The last six years of her life came along with many challenges. She endured them with few tears and always with a smile on her face. As she put it, “it was another bump in the road.” She will be deeply missed by all.
Delores is survived by her husband Tom of 51 years; her children Randall (Sandy) Abbott of Hartford, Lisa (John) Alves of Hartford, Pamela (Bill) Davis of CA and Thomas (Becky) Abbott of Slinger; her grandchildren Nicole (Michael), Ryan, Rachel, Jason, Meghan, Anna, Katelyn and Aidan; her great granddaughter Ava; her siblings, Roger (special friend Pat) Kuehl of Hartford, Darlene (Michael) Wagner of Hartford, Doris (Don) Lechner of Hartford and Russell Kuehl of Hartford; her brothers and sisters-inlaw; Shirley Kuehl of Iron Ridge, Lenore Abbott of Cudahy, Dorothy (Tom) Waddell of IA, Douglas (Sue) Abbott of Waukesha, Dianne Abbott of CA, and Richard (Mary) Abbott of Hartford. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Special mention to her neighbors, Victor and Donna Koch, Jayne Lemminger and John Steinhofer.
