Larry was born on Aug. 10, 1941, in Peoria, Ill., the son of Nyle and Pearl (Janssen) Colvin. Larry married Mary Ellen Cranford on Dec. 10, 1961, at the Peoria Heights Congregational Church.
Larry graduated from Woodruff High School in 1959 and worked for International Paper Company for over 35 years. He also worked for the city of Lacon before retiring to Wisconsin.
He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team and the Chicago Bears football team. He enjoyed playing softball, golf, pitching horseshoes, going hunting and fishing. His most cherished times were spent with his grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Nyle.
Larry is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; their sons, Brett (Tameco) Colvin of Lacon, Ill., Tony (Lisa) Colvin of Lacon, Ill., and Lance (Jenelle) Colvin in Varna, Ill.; his six grandchildren, Brittany (Korey) Williamson, Sydney, Sierra, Abby, Wyatt and Isabelle Colvin; great-grandchild, Willow Pearl Williamson; and his mother, Pearl at age 92. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard (Janet) Colvin of Kickapoo, Ill., and Terry (Diane) Colvin of O'Fallon, Ill.; sister, Patricia (Russell) Mulvaney of Columbia, Ind.; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Committal to be in Old Salem Cemetery, R.R., Lacon, Ill.
