My birth grandmother Babe Myrtle Haynes was born to Harry Lee Haywood and Mary (Nelson) Haywood. Her mom died when she was around 2. Her grandpa (Darwin Nelson) raised her until she was 9 and then he died.

Babe married Alonzo Lane on March 7, 1927 in Charlotte, Michigan. Although she was married more than once she always went by the name Babe Haynes after she married Arthur Haynes. She liked things to be perfect and her house was always spotless.

She was the mother of Robert (Bob) Greenslade, Marvel Marie Dingee, Floyd Charles (called Charlie) Greensley, Dorthea (Doty) Lane. Shirley Mae Lane, Lila Rae Lane, Bonnie Jean Lane.

She was also the stepmother of Arthur Haynes' children. They were Gladys, Donald, and Rolland. She loved all the children as her own.
