Mrs. Mary Elizabeth English, 79, of Corsicana, and a native of Leon County, died in Corsicana Monday, Aug. 8, after a short illness.
Born on Dec. 18, 1882, in Leon County, Mrs. English was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ona Fondon and Mrs. Nelda Rascoe of Corsicana, Mrs. Florence Bartee, of Crockett, Mrs. Etha Price of Houston, and Mrs. Pauline Smith of Beaumont; a son, Wilbur B. English of Corsicana; a brother, J. B. Sanders of Trinity; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. English were held at the Callaway Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, with the Rev. Bruce Hibbit of Corsicana officiating. Interment was in the Center Hill Cemetery.
Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
