WILLIAM EUGENE "BILL" DODSON
1921-2004
Bartlesville, Okla. -- Mr. William Eugene "Bill" Dodson, 83, of Bartlesville, died at 8:11 a.m. Friday, at the Jane Phillips Medical Center.
Mr. Dodson was born May 8, 1921 at Webb City, Mo to Carl and Retta (Lawson) Dodson. He grew up and received his education in the Webb City area and he served with the U S Army Air Corps during World War II as a P-51 pilot. He was married to Eunice Dell Allison on November 17, 1963 at St. Joseph, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Dodson made their home in Topeka, Kan., Grove and Miami Okla. Mr. Dodson was employed in management at the Shangri-La Resort for over 25 years until his retirement.
Mr. and Mrs. Dodson came to Bartlesville to make their home in 2000.
Mr. Dodson was amember of the DAV at Grove and had served on the Ritual Honors Team and was a member of the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 in Bartlesville.
Mr. Dodson is survived by his wife, Eunice Dell Dodson of the home; three sons, Billy Boyd and Ricky Boyd both of Joplin, Mo.; and Mike Dodson and his wife Heidi of Dewey; one daughter Cynthia Lewis and her husband Paul of Omaha, Neb.; five step children; six grand children; 17 step grand children; and a number of step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Funeral services for Mr. Dodson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Friends Cemetery at Purcell, Mo. with Reverend Ross Atkns officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by the DAV Ritual Honors Team from Grove and funeral services and interment under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home.
