Born on February 18, 1910 in London, Mr. Blakeley was the son of British actor James Blakeley, Sr. After appearing in nearly 20 films, he mastered editing and was to serve as President of American Cinema Editors. During WWII, Mr. Blakeley trained US Army pilots; after the war, he served as General Manager for the cosmetic firm of his close friend, Elizabeth Arden. In time, he moved on to become Post-Production Supervisor of numerous successful television programs at Fox including MASH, Batman and The Magician. Mr. Blakeley was happily married to actress Mary Carlisle from 1942 until his death on January 30, 2007. He and Ms Carlisle are the parents of renown interior designer James Blakeley III of Beverly Hills. (Melissa)
