Robert Ray Cornelison, 52, of Grove City, Pa., passed away Wednesday, September 16, 1992, at his home.

He was born May 16, 1940, in Creston, the son of John E. and Helen A. (Skarda) Cornelison.

He was an instructor of music at Grove City College, joining the faculty in 1967 after serving as director of music at Advent Lutheran Church in Detroit for four years. At Grove City College, he served as organist and was a member of the music faculty, teach both piano and organ students, as well as music history and theory classes. He was organist and choir director at Center Presbyterian Church at Slippery Rock, Pa., He had also served as music director for First Presbyterian Church and Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Des Moines, and he taught at Vennard College.

He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in music at Drake University in Des Moines, and studied toward his doctorate of musical arts at the University of Michigan.

He was a member of the American Guild of Organists, judge for the AGO's National Contest for Young Artists, and an adjudicator for regional Federation of Music Club Festivals. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Creston.

Mr. Cornelison is survived by his mother, Helen Cornelison of Creston; and a brother, James. L. Cornelison of Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Cornelison in 1980.
