The microfilm does have her name and death information - which matches. Who Rachel Davenport is, and why Elijah and Martha would take her son in is a mystery. Martha's father Elijah Parker also took in a son of Rachel Davenport - Benjamin.
Martha (Stiles) Parker, Martha Howe's mother, died in 1776. Appropriate that her name would be passed on in 1778.
