Harvey Harold Burrer, 87, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2008. He was born in Fredericksburg, on February 7, 1921.


He attended Draughan's Business College and proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Alabama in the Pacific from 1942-1946 and the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953. He retired from Civil Service at Kelly AFB in July 1975 after 33 years of employment. His home was San Antonio for the majority of his life and became a resident of Pleasanton for the past 8 years.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents Hilmar and Cora (Dietz) Burrer of Fredericksburg, TX and his wife of 46 years, Margie Schneider Burrer of San Antonio, TX, married April 20, 1946.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 15 years, Willie Mae (Wiley) Mayes-Burrer; sons, Dennis Burrer and wife Connie, David Burrer and wife Karen, Don Burrer and wife Cindy; daughters Carolyn Mockert and husband Floyd, Nancy Hunter and husband Lawrence; step-daughters; Brenda Schirmer and husband Tim, Martha Schultz and husband Larry, Wanda Mayes; and step-son Dennis Mayes and wife Sharon; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren

Harvey enjoyed traveling in his RV, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a good, loving man whose family will miss him dearly everyday.


Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home, 118 W Oaklawn RD., Pleasanton, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 17, 2008. Funeral Services will be held at Mission Burial Park North Tips Chapel, 20900 IH 10 West, San Antonio, at 11:00 AM Friday, July 18, 2008. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North, San Antonio, TX.
