Charles Bartels, age 68 years, died Monday, February 4 at the Bethphage Mission in Axtell, where he has made his home since June, 1956. He lived near Wilcox on a farm for many years and was also employed at the Navy Depot in Hastings for some years.
About three years ago he left Wilcox to reside at rest homes in Kearney and Minden and then later moved to Bethphage in Axtell.
Survivors include: one son, Ted Bartels of Wilcox; two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Esther) Kleeman of Burchard and Mrs. Rudolph Gellerman of Wilcox.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zulauf Chapel and at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church at Wilcox. Rev. E.L. Wittenburg will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, south of Wilcox.
