Virgil Eugene Hammond, 60 years old passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in his home unexpectedly in West Valley City, Utah. He was born June 26, 1951 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Married Flora Jean Mellor on September 12, 1972.

Virgil lived for and loved his family. He was devoted to his calling in the LDS church. He was always trying to make people laugh. He took much pride in his education and his MBA Degree.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ada & Clifford; siblings, Pat & Shirley and two grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Flora; children: Russell (Sonja), Richard (Cheri), Rachael (Cody), Melanie (Thomas), April (Shaun); siblings: Eldon (Joyce), Rick (Linda) and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, 2012, 12:00 noon at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road with a viewing 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services
