The Rev. John Bruggers, pastor of the Wichert Reformed church, officiated at the services and interment was in the Oakwood cemetery, Wichert.
Born Nov. 17, 1873 in the Netherlands, Mr. Bakker had farmed near Momence for several years. His wife, Gertrude, preceded him in death in 1934 and two sons also preceded him in death. He had been ill during the past year.
Survivors include six sons, Herbert of Missouri, Theodore of Arizona, David of Chicago Heights, Peter of Crete, Abraham of Lansing and August of Momence; four daughters, Elizabeth Bakker of Momence, Mrs. Mary Ziola of Chicago, Mrs. Edna Homan of Grant Park and Mrs. Agnes Keller of Momence; a sister, Jenny of the Netherlands; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
