Mrs. Flora Strickler, of Sterling, and daughter of H. S. Wells, of this city, died Monday afternoon, about 1 o'clock, at the home of her parents on South Root street, Aurora. She came here on a visit, about a week ago, and has been suffering from a stomach difficulty since. Her condition, however, was not thought to be so dangerous until death was near. Mr. Strickler was telegraphed of the event and arrived on the evening train.
The funeral will be held from the house on Root street at 10:30 o'clock, Wednesday morning, and the remains buried at Sterling." - Aurora Daily Express, Tuesday, August 7, 1888
