Biography by Kathleen Clemence:

As a member of the Uniformed Battalion of Orleans Volunteers under the command of then Major Jean Baptiste Plauche, Francois served as a Dragoon in Captain Henri St Geme's Company during the Battle of New Orleans. He was wounded during the Artillery Duel of January 1, 1815 at the Chalmette Battlefield and later received a pension.
