Mr. Charles William Partin, age 66, of Pleasant Hill Drive, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2000 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Partin was born on March 24, 1934 in Union County, the son of the late Claude Partin and the late Lois Carpenter Partin. He was retired from the Blue Ridge Mountain EMC. Mr. parting was a veteran and was a member of the Allegheny Lodge #114 F&AM. He had attended the Youngstown Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Scott Partin in 1992.
Surviving Mr. Partin are his loving wife of forty one years, Frances Fair parting of Blairsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Holger Brandes of Chattanooga, TN; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Shelia parting of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Leila and Samantha parting of Blairsville and Kevin Brandes of Germany, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 18, 2000 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Special music was presented by Elizabeth Plott and Julie Davenport. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Bob Head, Kenny Fair, Mike Kelley, Wade Patterson, Holger Brandes, and Jim McAfee. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Eric England, Danny Young, Sid Mahan, Willard Dyer, Tammer Thompson, Newt Miller, pat Phillips and Jack Lance. The North Georgia Honor Guard conducted the graveside services. Interment followed in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
