Mrs. Bean died Saturday morning at the University of Virginia Hospital at Charlottesville where she had been a patient since November 16.
She was born November 6, 1911 in Hardy County and was a daughter of the late George and Ella C. Bowman.
She was a member of the Garrett's Chapel United Methodist Church, the ladies aid of the church and the Mathias Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
On December 28, 1932, she married Raymond Bean, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Mrs. Thanna Sue Riddle of Mathias, a brother, Dwight Bowman of Mathias, and three grandchildren.
