Alvin "Bud" Fahrer, 68 years, of Toledo, died December 14, 2000, in his home. An inspector for LOF in Rossford for 35 years, he retired in 1988. The son of Alva and Hazel (Huttinger) Fahrer, he was born February 9, 1932, in Perrysburg, OH. A 1951 graduate of Whitmer High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. During the war, he worked as a mechanic on reconnaissance air craft. He had his pilots license and enjoyed flying Piper Cubs.
Bud is survived by his sons, Edward (Angie) Fahrer of Lambertville, MI, Bryan (Kami) Fahrer of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Betty Lombardo of Lakeland, FL, Angela (John) Smilo of Maumee, OH, Delores Bash of Denver, CO, Kathy Kemley of Curtice, OH; brother, Russell (Carol) Fahrer of Temperance, MI; 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Melissa, Neil, Shawna, and Crystal.
Friends may call Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. in the Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Toledo. Memorials may be made to Bittersweet Farms, Whitehouse, OH.
