Mrs. Mary Epperly Taken After Stroke of Paralysis
Mrs. Mary Epperly, 77 years old, died at the home of her son, W.I. Epperly, at Shady Springs, last night at 8:30 o'clock. The aged woman succumbed to a paralytic stroke which she suffered last Monday.
Mrs. Epperly's health began to decline in December when she was stricken with pneumonia. She was thought to be making progress toward recovery when she suffered the stroke which caused her death.
The daughter of the late William and Dicey Ball, she was born in Summers county, and was a member of the Mouth of Greenbrier Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by the following sons:
W.I. Epperly of Shady Springs, B.O. Epperly, Coolridge; Phil Epperly, Thomas Epperly, and Paul Epperly, all of Hinton. Two nieces, Mrs Grace Smith, and Mrs. V.T. Lilly, and Nephew, D.C. Meadows, live in Beckley.
Funeral services will be held from the Madams Creek Church, Rev. Hackney, of Hinton, officiating, Friday afternoon at one o'clock. Burial will be in the Ball Cemetery near Hinton.
