88 years old a time of death. A Civil War veteran, Charles was a son of Spencer and Jane Caffey Bevill. They lived in Guilford Co. NC, very close to the Rockingham Co. line, in the Brown Summit/Benaja area. There seems to be no tombstone for Charles, although his obituary in the Greensboro Daily News indicates that he is buried at Fairgrove Church. His sister, Louise, who died a few days after he did, does have a tombstone, as well as his mother, Jane. The church used to be called Fairgrove Methodist Protestant Church.

More information from his gr-granddaughter, Sarah Bevill Mayberry:

"This is my great grandfather. My grandfather, another of Charles Robert's sons, was Julius Rupert Conway Bevill. He was born Sept.4, 1883 and died May 16, 1973. He is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro. There are three children who died as babies. They are Rhohoskia V.S Bevill, died June6, 1871; Anna L., died June 19, 1875 and Charles O.V., died Nov. 4, 1881. I don't have the babies
birthdates. They are buried in a family plot off of Spearman Road in Guilford County, NC and the headstones and gravesites may have been destroyed. I got these names and dates from a memorial that my great grandmother had framed honoring the babies. My grandfather had another brother who died as an adult, Adolphus Bevill, and a sister Nora which I have no information about at this time."
