Rev. Bryant was born August 6, 1933, in Horry County, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. He was a son of the late Fred Richard Bryant and Rena Frierson Burns. He was a minister with IPHC Conference of South Carolina. He retired from Bryant's Lock and Key Service. He was owner of Bryant's Barber Shop of Springdale and was former mayor and councilman of Springdale.
Rev. Bryant is survived by his wife, Doris Viola Zeigler Bryant of West columbia; children, Derryl Bryant (Jeannie), Lynn Bryant (Dianne), all of West Columbia, Ron Bryant (Diane) of Irmo, and Paul Kevin Bryant, Sr. (Sheila) of Lexington; brother, Thomas Bryant (Naomi); and sister, Linda Faye Burns, all of West Columbia; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one on the way. Rev. Bryant was predeceased by his stepfather, Henry Burns; and sisters, Ruby Callahan, Ellen Bellamy, Agnes Burns, and Marie Bryant. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Lexington Medical Center and to his caregiver, Jamie Kirkland and grandson, PJ.
