Rex J Turpin 1923-2012

Rex J Turpin was born July 4, 1923 in Fairview , Utah to Clarence and Caroline Brady Turpin.

He married Maxine Evans on October 29, 1942 in the Manti Temple and were married for 52 years before her passing.

They had four children: Their first child, a baby boy, died shortly after birth, Gary Rex (Jan) Turpin, Emma Jean (Glen) Cox, and LaRene (Bob) Jensen.

Married Beth Rosenlof on July 12, 1996.

He added 7 sons to his family. Don (Becky), Gary (Maurine), Dennis (Lauri), Mike (Dorothy), Kelly, Scott, and Randy (Ellen) Rosenlof.

He has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He loved his family very much. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 mostly in the South Pacific. He was a Heavy Weapon Sargent. He received a Good Conduct Medal and was listed as a Sharp Shooter.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many callings. He especially enjoyed his calling as the President of the Mutual. He also helped build the cabins for girls camp up Fairview Canyon.

He favorite hobby was working with wood. He enjoyed making toys and cradles for his grandchildren. He retired from Dugway Proving Grounds as a fireman. He also operated a barbershop as a side job.

He is preceded in death by wife, Maxine; daughter, Emma; parents; brothers, Clarence and Boyd; sisters, Thelma, Anna Laura, and Ina.; grandchildren: Rick, Liz, Mandee, Michael and Brandon; great grandchildren: Sierra, Ashley.

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Sharon Park 7th Ward building, 55 East 700 North in Orem, Utah.

A viewing will be held 9:00 -10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the ward chapel.

Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
