Malcolm H. Kurth, age 89, of Stoneham Road in Brookfield, died May 11, 2012, at home.

Born February 26, 1923 and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the son of Henry L. R. Kurth and Freda D. (Pawlowski) Kurth, he was a graduate of Cambridge High School and a graduate of MIT, Class of 1949.

He resided in Brookfield, NH for the past 38 years, having come from Pittsfield, MA and Schenectady, NY and Niskayuna, NY.

A United States Army 104th infantry Veteran of World War II, he was recipient of a Purple Heart.

Prior to retirement, he was employed as Electrical and Design Engineer at General Electric, having worked with them in Pittsfield, MA, and in Schenectady, NY.

He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Nativity in North Conway, NH.

Malcolm was a former member and Fire Chief with the Pittsfield, MA Fire Department, also a former member of the Wakefield, NH Fire Department and Ambulance Corps.

He enjoyed golfing, a former member of the Kingswood Country Club and the Berkshire Hills Country Club.

Survived by his beloved wife of 66 years: Doris E. (Mix) Kurth, his sister Barbara Danielson of Indiana and his special nephew: William H. and wife Linda Payne of Denver, CO.
