Frances M. Smith, 73, of Fowler died at 3:22 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at IU Health Arnett Hospital. She was born April 2, 1939 in Tuscon, AZ, the daughter of the late Robert and Bess Mackie Kendall. At one time, Frances was married to John C. Smith and he has preceded her in death. Frances lived in California, moving to Fowler in 1983 and had worked at AB Specialty Bag in Fowler, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed crafts, landscaping, and spending time with her family.
Frances is survived by her three children: Melinda Strowmatt (husband: Dan) of Thomasboro, Illinois, Connie Townsend (husband: Mark) of West Lafayette, and John Smith of Indianapolis, one sister: Kathy Ingram of Huntington Beach, CA, one brother: Robert "Bob" Kendall of Los Angeles, CA, and 7 grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin brother.
