Minnie Bennett was the daughter of John B. Bennett and Frances McLeod. They married in Pike County, Alabama on October 31, 1867. In 1870 John and Frances were living with or near her parents in Troy, Pike County, Alabama, with one year old Lula Bennett. In the early 1870s they immigrated to Texas, settling in Houston, County. In 1880, their children were:
John T. Bennett born about 1871
Joel B. Bennett born about 1873
Minnie Bennett born about 1875
Ella Bennett born about 1877
Hubbord Bennett born about 1879.
Lula Bennett was no longer in the family, so she must have died sometime before 1880.

Minnie Bennett married widower John Marcus Wells on July 22, 1891 in Houston County. John and Minnie had a daughter Louella Wells born on March 14, 1895, in Ratcliff, Texas. They had a son Delbert Wells born on January 3, 1900. Minnie died a few days after the birth of that son. The child died the following year.
