A Lewisport mother, her 6 year old daughter and her father were killed in an auto accident yesterday morning at Ft. Pierce, Fla., just a few miles short Miami, Fla., where the family intended to spend a vacation.
The mother, Mrs. Nella Louise Kelly, 33, her daughter, Rita Kelly, 6, and Rollie Scifres, 71 the father, were killed at about 10 am.
Robert G. Kelly, the husband and driver, reportedly swerved the Kelly auto into the path of a truck driven by Sidney Tauber, Miami. Tauber was uninjured.
Others in the car were Scifres' wife, Mrs Estil Scifres, and Bobby Kelly, 9.
The family left Kentucky Saturday for a southern vacation.
Scifres was a farmer in Lewisport, Route 2, Kelly operates a restaurant in Lewisport.
Scifres survivors include two daughters, Mrs Juanita Bryant, Lewisport. Mrs Myrtle Hess, Tell City, Ind. and one son, Estil Scifres, 27, Lewisport.
Kelly, his son and Mrs. Scifres were treated at a Florida hospital. No report on their condition was available Monday.
