The funeral was Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Grey Eagle, for Vernon F. Ostendorf, 73, Long Prairie, Minn., formerly of Minot, who died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in a Long Prairie hospital. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born June 18, 1934, to Bernard and Mathilda Ostendorf in Ward Springs, Minn. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He married Donna Lawson June 6, 1966, in Grey Eagle.

Survivors: wife; brothers, Leander, Tempe, Ariz., Edwin, Fayetteville, N.C., William, Citrus Heights, Calif.; sisters, Rita Lyon, Joanne Heffron and Lorraine Folta, all Grey Eagle, Viola Berscheid, Melrose, Minn.
