Mary Elizabeth Peavy Allen, 88, is survived by her husband of 59 years, Pace A. Allen, Sr. She was a native of Concord and was raised in Tallahassee. The Allen's spent several years in Vero Beach and Defuniak Springs and 17 years in Crestview, before finally returning home to Tallahassee. She attended Florida State College for Women, where she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Mrs. Allen had been active in the Garden Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Springtime Tallahassee, where she and Mr. Allen were members of the 20th Century Krewe. She was also a longtime member of First Baptist Church, where she attended the Early Risers Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by four children, James Carl "Jimmy" Allen (Nellie), Pace A. Allen, Jr. (Denise), Robert Joseph "Rob" Allen (Beth) and Mary Lisa Bolton (Bruce); two brothers, Camp Peavy (Nancy) and Joe Peavy (Suzanne); five grandchildren, James Carl Allen, Jr. (Jeni), Henry Casper Allen (Courtney), Emilyann Girdner (Justin), Sarah Elizabeth Allen and Samuel Allen; and three great-grandchildren, Maxim Allen, Wendy Allen and David Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Amelia Bowen Peavy; and two grandchildren, Amelia Christi Lynn Allen and Pace Carley Allen.
