Born: Mississippi; Spouse: Virginia A.; Pension: #13859; Service: Company F., 25th Texas Cavalry; enlisted 5 May 1862 at Woodville. Comments: Mortuary Warrant died at home of H. E. Ramey, son-in-law, in Trinity County. Kidney is diseased. 35 years in Houston County in December 1908. Son of William James Stewart and Lucinda J. Meadows.

He married Virginia Allie Collins in Tyler Co., Texas on Dec. 14, 1866.

Their children were: William C., Charles E., Georgia Allie, Calvin Leonard, Lola V., Lula E., Lucy Bell, Nannie Estes, and Della B. According to family tradition, Lola and Lula were part of a set of triplets but the third triplet Lela died at birth. Also according to family tradition, Della had a twin sister named Stella who died at birth.
