THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PROVIDED BY FIRE-FLY:
Aage Haaland, 72, a resident of Merced, Calif., died Monday at home after a long illness.

Mr. Haaland, a former Silver City NM resident, was employed by Chino Mines as a power house engineer for 21 years. He also worked as a cowboy in the Tyrone NM area, as a merchant seaman and as a truck driver.

Mr. Haaland was a U.S. Army World War ll veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 55 in Hurley, of Order of Eastern Star No. 43 in Hurley, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Merced.

He was past president of the Golden Lions Club of Merced, a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, and volunteered his services to many charitable organizations. Survivors include his wife, Amy E. Haaland; a daughter, Amy Ann Ramer, and her husband, John Ramer, and two grand-daughters, all of Merced; and his mother, Ann Maria Mollbergof Oslo, Norway. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Parma. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Unity Church in Merced. Interment will be in a family plot at Richland Springs, Texas.
