Rev. Daniel Dana Tappan, who died at Topsfield, Mass., January 15, graduated from Bowdoin College in 1822. Mr. Tappan studied theology in Dr. N.W. Taylor's first class in the theological department of Yale College. he preached constantly for about 56 years, and thereafter, during the last ten years of his life, frequently officiated as a clergyman. More than sixty years ago, he was settled in Alfred and in Winthrop, and later in Weld.
