Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford, where he was an elder and member, with burial in St. Peter's Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home has charge.
He graduated from University High School and earned his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from University of Mississippi in 1942. He had served in the Navy with the Seabees in the South Pacific for more than two years. He had worked with Tennessee Valley Authority, and also had worked as field engineer and served as associate vice chancellor for administration at the university. He was a Mason, a former Rotarian and had served at the district and council levels for Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. White, the husband of Annie Grace White for 43 years, also leaves two daughters, Diane Lindley and Marty Mauldin, both of Oxford; a son, Dr. Paul White of Tupelo, and seven grandchildren.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to First Presbyterian Church here, Friends of the Library or Yocona Area Council.
