Jean worked in her younger years at Sheridan's Dept. Store and Siesta's Sleep Shop there in Quincy. She began a career with Avon, taking over for her daughter; and it lasted for over 40 years between Quincy and Norton MA. Jean had been a longtime resident in Norton from 1969 until moving to live closer to her daughter in Kingston NH in 2000.
Mrs. Langley was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kingston VFW Post #1088. She was a former league candlepin bowler at Pilgrim Lanes in Haverhill MA. Jean also enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, and numerous card games, including poker.
She was predeceased by two husbands, Pasquale Chella and James Langley; daughter Corinne Chella; sons Ralph Chella and Dana Chella;, and nine brothers and sisters.
Jean leaves her daughter Patricia Cline and husband Phil of Kingston NH, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, brothers Joseph Gioncardi of Weymouth MA and Thomas Gioncardi of Quincy MA, sister Bessie Santagata of Braintree MA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2009, 5 - 8 PM, at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, 2009, at 10 AM, at St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree MA.
