Mary Jane DeCoursey was the 4th child of four (4) born to JOHN & JEANNETT "Jean / Jane" Spillard DeCoursey, both born in Ireland. Other three (3) children were: Richard-1835-1850, Stephen J.-1836-1911, & Thomas -1837-????. All four (4) children were born in Newark, Essex, New Jersey. The family moved to Louisville, Jefferson, Kentucky. Mary Jane met and married Joseph Stephen Labille in Louisville on 23 August 1864 after he got out of the Army during the Civil War and getting the MEDAL of HONOR. They moved to Vandalia, Fayette, Illinois, where they had Alice- 1865-1888. They moved shortly afterwards to Cannelton, Perry, Indiana. Here they had: Jeanette -1868-1881, Josephine C. 1870-1920, Rudd S. 1872-1920, Henry J. 1874-1937, Baby/Infant -1876-1876, Mathilda E. 1878-1950. Alfred "Alf" Leroy 1881-1962. My Grand Father. The family more or less went their separate ways, but Joseph & Mary Jane moved back to Vandalia area around Bluff City. Both Joseph & Mary passed away there.. end
