Lydia Kathryne "Katie" Clutter, 88, of Washington, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 10, 2012, in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington, after a brief illness.

She was born October 8, 1923, in Littleton, W.Va., daughter of Simeon and Easter Ellen Long Fox.

Mrs. Clutter was an active member of Friendship Community Church, where she loved to sing on Sundays.

On April 15, 1944, in First Church of God, McMechen, W.Va., she married Hershell Lawrence "Spanky" Clutter, her husband of 37 years, who died February 16, 1981.

Surviving are son Lawrence Clutter of Claysville; two grandchildren, Angela Brenner of Taylorstown and Lawrence "Lonnie" Clutter Jr. of Lone Pine; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Brenner Franks, Joshua Brenner, Dominic and Vincent Clutter; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The youngest of nine, she was the last of her eight siblings, Eddie, Ira, Archie, Jerry, Roy, Gladys, Dessie and Wilda.

Also deceased is her second husband, Robert Bryner, whom she married September 26, 1999.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 14, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Bethel Cemetery, Littleton, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friendship Community Church, 1090 Weirich Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
