Mrs. Sarah Peardon died December 1, 1905 at her home in Whitewater, aged 81 years and six months. Funeral services were conducted December 4, and interment took place at Farmington. Rev. John Lugg officiating. Mrs. Peardon's maiden name was Sarah Cory. She was born in Cornwall, England, June 4, 1824. In 1845 she was married to Wm. Colwell and came to America. They settled in Eagle, Waukesha county, a short time until they purchased a small farm in Farmington, Jefferson county. Mr. Colwell was acidentally killed in 1858 while running a threashing machine. In 1868, she was married to Richard Peardon of Melady's Prairie where she lived until his death in 1887. Alone then she made her home with her children, six of them surviving her. Mrs. Mary Campbell and Statie Robinson of Whitewater; Mrs. Hattie Dunning of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Edmund Colwell of Woodland, Minn.; Walter Colwell of Clyde, Kan.; and Claude Peardon of Springfield, Ill., All of them being with her during her last sickness and death. Mrs. Peardon was one of the early settlers of Wisconsin, coming here in territorial days. She was a member of the M.E.
