Elgie "Richard" Bryan, 94, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Friday, April 24, 2009, at Quail Ridge Living Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1914, in Hulbert, Okla., to Benjamin Harrison and Phoebe Scroggins Bryan.

He married Virginia Finley Brown on Feb. 4, 1977, in Miami, Okla. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Kansas Masonic Lodge, V.F.W, American Legion and D.A.V.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Erma Mae Chandler; two daughters, Patricia L. Gray and Joyce Ann Thompson; three sisters, Stella Newman, Audy Byington and Grace Pickle; and a son-in-law, James A. Holston Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Bryan; a daughter, Yvonne Holston "Booley" of Siloam Springs; a sister, Mary Parker of Edmond, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 27, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.
