MRS. ELLEN OWENS

Mother of Mrs. L.E. Holwager, Died at Noon Today After a Brief Illness

Mrs. Ellen Owens, the venerable mother of Mrs. Louis E. Holwager, died at 12:45 o'clock noon today at the Holwager residence, corner of Third and Mulberry streets. Mrs. Owens had been in ill health for sometime, but her condition had only become serious last Thursday, after which she sank rapidly. Stomach trouble was the cause of her death.

February 26th the decedent would have been 67 years of age had she lived. Her husband has been dead for a number of years, and of a family of eight children, four are living, two daughters, Mrs. Holwager, city, and Mrs. Walter Hammersley, Jeffersonville, and two sons, Messrs. Henry and Amen Owens of this city. Three sisters, Mrs. Lucinda Enlow, Washington, Pa.; Mrs. Harriett Jones, Ashtabula, O., and Mrs. Jane Tafflinger, Marysville, Ind., and two brothers, Messrs. Henry Harmond, Illinois, and Frank Harmond, Illinois, and Frank Harmond, Bedford, Ind., also survive. Mrs. Owens was respected and liked by all who knew her for a kindly Christian character, and many friends will hear with sorrow and regret of her death.

The time of the funeral has not been decided pending the arrival of relatives from a distance.
