Robert Darrel Leslie Evans died Thursday, May 10, 2012.

He died at his home in Bemidji in the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his wife and family.

Robert Darrel Leslie Evans was born Nov. 20, 1935, in Bemidji to Ernest "Bob" and Emma (Tiegen) Evans. Robert went to school at Sunnyside Country School and Bemidji High School. He then graduated from Bemidji State College with his teaching license and later from the University of Minnesota for library science. On Aug. 17, 1957, he married Marian Selzler. He taught grades K-12 for over 30 years before retiring in 1991 from the Aurora-Hoyt Lakes School District. Robert loved to travel and visited all 50 states and numerous countries on six different continents.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Leslie and Brian Evans; his daughters, Rebecca Clark and Kari Cannon; his sons-in-law, Craig Clark and Rob Allen; his grandchildren, Tyler Cannon, Kristina Johnson, Robert Clark and Matthew Clark; three brothers; two sisters; and an aunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Roberta Evans; his grandson, Michael Clark; one brother and one sister.

Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
