Charles Edward Blankmeyer was born in California July 3, 1934. He died unexpectedly at home in San Antonio, Texas Apri1 20,2012 at age 77. He grew up in Southern California, attended St. Agnes High School in Los Angeles and attended Loyola University . He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. He began his professional career in the grocery industry and then in outside sales for several large national organizations. Toward the end of his career he ran his own company CEB Services. He retired in 1996 to devote more time to golf and traveling. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 1993. He faced the illness with a positive attitude, strength and courage and never let it control his life. He stayed active until the day he died. He loved fishing, sailing and then golf. Later on he enjoyed the Spurs, poker, reading and computer games. Most of all he loved his family and they love him. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a good friend. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marie Blankmeyer, sister Agnes Howard, brother Joseph Blankmeyer Jr., son Charles Jr. in 1993 and daughter Diana Knight in 2009. He is survived by his loving wife Dr. Bonnie Blankmeyer of 57 years for whom he was "the Wind beneath my Wings", three lovely granddaughters Shelby Knight, Andrea and Isabelle Blankmeyer, step grandson Jared Hubbell, sisters Margaret Weekley and Dorothy Cole, sister-in-law Carolyn Blankmeyer, son-in-law J.W. Hubbell. His sudden and unexpected departure from this world leaves a deep and lasting void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A 3:00 p.m. Chapel Service will be on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
