BRIDGEWATER - John Clifton Wilfong, 73, of Rt. 2, Dayton died at his home late Friday night. He had been ill three years.

Mr. Wilfong was born May 15, 1888, at Franklin, W. Va., and was a son of the late John and Susan Snyder Wilfong.

He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was a carpenter.

On Dec. 28, 1910 he married the former Elizabeth Simmons, who survives.

Also surviving are four sons, Charles A. Wilfong of Tennessee, William C. Wilfong of Harrisonburg, David C. Wilfong of Richmond and Everette Wilfong of Dayton; two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Shull of Mt. Solon and Mrs. Grace Groat of Richmond, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Katherine Ellis of Delaware; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The body is at the W. L. Rosenberger Funeral Home at Bridgewater pending completion of funeral arrangements.

Funeral services for John Clifton Wilfong, of Dayton will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Ben Bixby and the Rev. Simon Glick. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Relatives will meet in the church basement at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at W. L. Rosenberger Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Eldridge Knicely, Gilbert Long, Otho Howdyshell, Joe Lambert, Nelson Whetzel and David Reese.
